Juan Martin Del Potro defeated Roger Federer and won his first US Open title today. Del Potro won in five sets with scores 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-2

At one point of the tournament, Roger Federer made his own outburst as he complained to the umpire when he allowed opponent Del Potro to challenge a call after a lengthy period of time. Fans say that this may have caused Federer to lose his focus on the game at hand.

This upset win by Del Potro stopped Federer from making six consecutive US Open crowns to match the record of Bill Tilden which was set in the 1920s. Juan Martin Del Potro hails from Argentina and was seeded number six at the start of the Open.
