Android 4.0 Launched

Google has just unveiled Android 4.0, or more popularly known as the Ice Cream Sandwich. The release was done early today through a webcast demonstration in cooperation with Samsung in Hong Kong who also launched the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone.
The new Android OS has four new capabilities and it was shown by Andy Rubin, Google’s senior vice president of mobile.
These new features are the Face Unlock facial recognition, Android Beam, data monitoring and the voice mail fast forward functionality.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Nexus, with 1.2 GHz dual-core processor is now expected to be released in the U.S. by November via Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE network. No price yet from Verizon regarding the handset.
