Barnes & Noble Reader Nook Are Now Sold Out
Written under: Business, Lifestyle, TechnologyBarnes & Noble Inc.’s Nook device for reading digital versions of books which was introduced last month, is currently sold out. Now, the company claims that new orders won’t ship until after Christmas.
The retailer introduced the $259 device last month and will ship purchases by November 30. However, due to supply limitations, orders placed after November 19 will now ship the week of January 4.

So for shoppers who planned to give the product as a gift for Christmas, can instead choose to have a holiday certificate shipped to the recipient.
The Nook is Barnes & Noble’s entry into an electronic-reader market which is currently dominated by Amazon.com Inc. and Sony Corp. The Nook has a color touch-screen for navigation not found on Amazon.com’s Kindle or Sony’s Reader.

This is what turns people off about new products – when the manufacturers/developers greatly underestimate desire and can’t meet the demand. People will cancel their orders, and buy one of many other models from other makers that are coming out now. Not good planning.
