Classes Suspended Due To Philippine Floods
Written under: Philippines
School classes in all levels in Metro Manila, Rizal, Batangas and Laguna are suspended until Tuesday, September 29 due to flooding brought about by typhoon Ondoy.
The Philippine Commission on Higher Education further announced that college levels in Calabarzon is also suspended. Calabarzon covers the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.

National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) spokesman Anthony Golez announced that the main reason for the suspension is because several areas in the province of Rizal, particularly Cainta, remained submerged in floodwater.
Moreover, several schools are also being used as evacuation centers of families displaced by the flooding.
Typhoon Ondoy has so far left at least 52 people dead and hundreds of thousands homeless, which prompted the government to declare a state of calamity in Metro Manila and 25 other provinces.
