Ernie Anastos Explains Chicken Comment
Written under: Human Interest
By now, everyone has probably watched the Ernie Anastos YouTube video of his slip-up during the WNYW broadcast Wednesday night. If you haven’t, then you can watch the video below.
In any case, Ernie Anastos explains that what he was really trying to say was “Keep plucking that chicken” and apparently misspoke. He has also apologized for the Freudian slip.

During the show, Anastos stated that he didn’t recognized the error he spoke, but co-anchor Dari Alexander’s eyes bugged out after he said it. Here’s a transcript of his conversation with weatherman Nick Gregory.
Anastos: “It takes a tough man to make a tender forecast” (a play on an old chicken commercial)
Gregory: “I guess that’s me”
Anastos: “Keep f—ing that chicken”
On Thursday’s newscast, Anastos publicly stated:
I misspoke during last night’s newscast. I apologize for my remarks to anyone who may have been offended.
