We organized a short list of facts about the Google Chrome OS and hope that these can help you know the OS a little better.

What is Google Chrome OS? It is a lightweight, cloud-based operating system.
What is its difference from Windows 7? Google Chrome OS is designed to operate entirely off of the Internet, which means there is no data stored nor programs installed on the computer; everything will Web-driven.
What is the advantage of this? Speed. Chrome OS can boot within as little as three seconds. Second is security. Since no data is stored, chances of getting a computer virus is very low.
Do you get to save any data locally? Not much. Chrome OS will store only a small amount of data because your files will be in an online storage center.
But can you work offline? Yes, but not much. You will have very limited options. Maybe just viewing documents.
How’s Chrome OS interface look like? It looks like the Google Chrome browser. Simple and minimal.
Here’s a video that will explain Google Chrome OS more:

Does anyone know if Chrome OS will allow you to save anything locally (say to a SD card or to a USB memory stick)? I’m sort of curious – if I can do this, I want one (a Chrome OS system) – and if it can’t save anything locally somebody at Google needs a couple of good swift kicks.
P.S. – Chrome OS reminds me of Sun’s Sun Ray system.
