Facebook has the most number of users for a social network in the world, but they may also be the one with the most illegitimate account.

In a report, the company has admitted that they’ve estimated 83 million accounts are fake profiles, which includes duplicate profiles.

Meanwhile, user-misclassified accounts amounted to 2.4% which pertains to personal profiles for businesses or even, pets.

The estimate comes at a time of growing concern about the effectiveness of marketing on the platform. And due to this report, many advertisers on Facebook are now concerned about the true reach of their marketing inside the social network.
