Rumors are now circulating that the award winning sitcom and 90s pop culture success, Friends will have a movie soon and will be released by mid 2011.

Initial source of the Friends: The Movie news came from James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther in the series. He says David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry are all returning for the movie.

He says:

Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen. I am definitely on board to do the film. I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film.

Furthermore, he says that the movie screenplay will be written by the original series writers David Crane and Marta Kauffman.
