Former National Football League (NFL) player and hall of famer Merlin Olsen has finally succumbed at age 69 to mesothelioma.
Before symptoms of mesothelioma appeared, Olsen had a prestigious 15-year career with the Los Angeles Rams and an accomplished sportscaster, actor and spokesperson for FTD Florists.

The US FDA has urged Procter & Gamble to issue a Pringles recall. It’s been discovered that some batches of Pringles potato crisps could be contaminated with salmonella which has been found in the manufacturer’s equipment.
According to Dr. Jeff Farrar, associate commissioner for food safety in the FDA, the discovery of Salmonella Tennessee could cause a recall to other products as well, and the Pringles recall is just a start.

Jose Reyes of the New York Mets has been found through a blood test to have thyroid imbalance. The Mets shortstop will now undergo tests to determine a course of action.
Reyes said he felt fine and has not experienced any symptoms of a thyroid problem. The thyroid is a gland in the neck that produces hormones that help control metabolism.
