Noynoy Aquino Will Run for Philippine Presidency
Written under: Philippines, PoliticsManila, Philippines – Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr or more popularly known as Noynoy Aquino has announced that he is running in the 2010 Presidential elections.
Son of the former president, Corazon Aquino, Noynoy announced his decision after what he claims as days of “soul-searching”.
In declaring his candidacy, Noynoy Aquino acknowledged the big challenge ahead as he would have to battle it out with other opposition candidates, several of whom have long been unofficially on the campaign trail.
He stated during at Club Filipino in Greenhills:
I accept the call of the people. I accept the responsibility of continuing our fight for the people. I accept the challenge to lead this fight. I want to make democracy work not only for the rich and the well connected but for everyone.
Now the question is, will Mar Roxas be his Vice President or will he choose someone else?
When i see the wicked getting fatter and richer, I was hurt as if God ignores the misery and hardship of the people, as if God allowed everything to be under their power and control, when our dearest Former President Aquino died, I cried, she was the people’s President, I was so proud and honored to see her speak at the U.S. congress, the non stop applause, the standing ovation, the respect and dignity during those moments were earned back for the Filipino People.
In my heart it came suddenly, I wish Noynoy will be the next President and yes my wishes came true, and I know my dream comes true not for me but for the Filipinos I loved very much too.
Thank you Noynoy for running, you are the Prince of Hope to the Filipinos.
