Product Recall: Wal-Mart DVD Players

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission just issued a product recall on the Wal-Mart DVD player due to fire hazards. This DVD player which is exclusively sold in Wal-Mart can overheat, creating a fire risk.
The agency claims that it had already received 12 reports of overheating by the Durabrand DVD players, five of which resulted in fires that caused property damage but no injuries.

If you want to check if you have such a device, these DVD players are silver-colored and has a U-shaped opening at the top to insert the DVD. These are originally made in China and is being sold for about $29.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it to the nearest Wal-Mart for a full refund,” the consumer agency said in a press release.
