Sun Storm Makes Earth Blackout in 2013 Possible

Written under: Science

News of a solar storm coming in the next few years is making people believe that there is a possibility of an Earth blackout in 2013.

“The sun is waking up from a deep slumber, and in the next few years we expect to see much higher levels of solar activity,” said Richard Fisher, head of NASA’s Heliophysics Division.

But what is a solar storm? Well, it is essentially the occurrence of violent eruptions in the sun which can eject destructive radiation and charged particles into space. These are closely connected to magnetic fields – which are hazardous for satellites and space stations.

In 1859, reports of a geomagnetic storm sparked by a huge solar flare swept over the Earth. This caused telegraph wires to short and houses were set on fire.

What’s scary is that scientists predict that in May 2013, the sun’s solar cycle will peak at about the same level as in 1859.

So what would happen? Will there be a massive Earth blackout in 2013? We’re thinking positive that our scientists will eventually find a way to protect our planet for this impending end of the world.

The whole theory is to put off the flame to prevent the blackout. Its like using H2O and Carbon Dioxide to put off flames. The scientist could lauch a powerful rocket to burst huge amount of Carbon Dioxide to put off them inferno flame.Woulndt that help?

Carbon Dioxide is the main reason for global warming. That would make it much worse, Specially that this much CO2 would kill us. Theres no way to run away from God’s will.
Unless god doesn’t want us to die then thats another case.

‘Cmon people, using CO2 to stop a solar flare? We’re just getting to know space and but a few of it’s contents, how can you put a sunspot to sleep on something as large as the sun. I really don’t believe we could ever get close enough. Besides, we’re only residents on this planet, we don’t own it. Look what happened to the dinosaurs. It’s also got nothing to do with the Landlord (GOD) either. If we live through this, and I hope we, then we just go back to the old ways of hunting, fishing and growing our foods. Maybe, then, we will learn how to look after our planet a little bit better.

    Thank (the realist)
