Customers who pre-ordered Nook from Barnes & Noble will get an online $100 gift certificate if their readers don’t arrive by December 24.
This was announced by Barnes & Noble Inc. recently to compensate for the possible late arrival of deliveries. The Nook is currently being sold for $259 but is already sold out for the holidays.

Despite efforts to deliver, the Nook electronic reader from Barnes & Noble Inc has suffered another setback when it announced that it is postponing the in-store debut of the device until early 2010.
While demonstration models are now available in stores, it will be those who pre-ordered who will get their Nook readers first.

Barnes & Noble Inc.’s Nook device for reading digital versions of books which was introduced last month, is currently sold out. Now, the company claims that new orders won’t ship until after Christmas.
The retailer introduced the $259 device last month and will ship purchases by November 30. However, due to supply limitations, orders placed after November 19 will now ship the week of January 4.
