The Jejemon Phenomena | What Is Jejemon?
Written under: Internet, Lifestyle, Philippines, Pop Culture
Many people, specially in social networking and online communities in the Philippines are experiencing the Jejemon phenomena.
But still, many are asking, what is a jejemon? Is jejemon the new jologs? While many would agree, some would refute this and say that the jejemon belongs to a completely new breed of people.

The word Jejemon basically comes from the word “Jejeje” – a word commonly used to denote laughter. The letter J here is pronounced as an H, thus it’s further etymology to the colloquial – “Hehehe”.
Secondly, Jejemon is an offshoot of the subculture popularity of Pokemon and while the latter means “pocket monsters”; Jejemons are often seen as “Jejeje monsters” for their ability to turn off and annoy people with their “foreign” style of writing.
Jejemon language example: “miSzMaldiTahh111 here EoW pFuOh! PuNtah TyO0 ZtArBuckKzz! Jejejejeje!”
It’s interesting that Jejemons are typically being discriminated in Philippine culture and yet, an earlier and original form of language – Leet is actually a globally accepted form of writing, specially in the intellectual geek community. And even Google has it’s own Leet Page.

i really dont have any problem with the way they put their hat, shirt, pants and shoes on… but whats bothering me is the way they spell words… this is really alarming… it’s not helping them sharpen their minds… but instead it would make them really “bobo”… sorry for the word but it’s the truth… that’s why DepEd is getting disturbed and alarmed by this fast rising filipino pop culture… plus the fact that initial reaction to filipinos is totally irritation and bewilderness…
wlang kwenta!!!!mga losers lng mga yn

..there would be no problem if the Jejemon language will just be used in texting…but the problem is if that language will be widely used by Filipinos in all areas and occasions…surely that would become a threat to our education…since the Jejemons make their own version of the spelling of words, if youngsters are used to it, there is a possibility that in school they will write unconsciously in a manner like these Jejemons do..they will forget the real standard in writing and thus, aggravating the language skills of the Filipinos…if we cannot eradicate them, let that language be used only in limited situation like in texting…but don’t be scatterbrained of the teachings of our teachers on how to write properly…let us observe formality for I see that the Jejebet is not a formal basis in writing or be used in our speech or grammar…
…and it is not necessary to post a comment of killing them in any page in Facebook or text messages…if you encounter Jejemons in text, just request to them to change the way they write in a manner that you can fathom it…
Stupid way of sending messages…those who use this way of sending messages are usually non-graduates…stupid is the best way of describing them…

i agree w/ the jejebusters, becausa they are right that jejemon way of texting can make poor results on our spellings and it can also be the start of our difficulties for being a good oral and written communicators of the philippines.
just sharing……….:)
it is also okay if we can control our jeje texting,it is not bad if we can handle both jeje spellings and proper spellings.let’s not make this as our culture.that’s why the DepEd required teachers the new UBD way of teaching, for us togo back w/ our “ninuno’s” and what they have done to our country.
Jejebusters are losers?
Oh please. Your predictable repartee clearly demonstrates your level of ineptitude. I suggest you get your uneducated mongrel ass back to school and stop wasting your parents’ hard-earned money on prepaid load, cigarettes, alcoholic consumables and the like.

,,,,jejemon da pra xa wlang pinag-aralan lang yon
well, with absolute certainty i am not jejemon, but i do not hate..
i just simply respect the way they communicate coz i understand that its their way of expressing themselves..
lets just accept the fact that not all people have the same personalities and we are totally different from one another..
this jejemon language apparently affects the linguistic ability and the language performance of the people, especially the students. haizt!
