Many are asking, or more appropriately – searching why does Google have two L’s. If you go to Google’s home page today, September 27, you’ll see a Google doodle that shows two L’s or more accurately, the number 11.

Why? Because Google is celebrating its 11th birthday.

The Google doodle is appearing worldwide as the date becomes September 27 in each time zone.

Interestingly, Google’s 10th birthday doodle was on their site on September 2nd instead of the 27th like it is this year.

Other dates celebrated by Google are September 15th – the day the domain name was registered and September 4th – the day Google submitted incorporation papers.
