It’s now officially a law. Women in Delhi should wear helmets. That’s the decision of the state government and the Delhi High Court.

So now, all women who are riding two-wheelers are required to adhere to road safety and wear helmet gear.

So it looks like that there will be more bell helmets on the road because of this.

But the law did not easily came to pass, while it has been a central government law, the women of Delhi has been exempt from it since 1999 – a special treatment given for the Sikh community – which prohibits their members from wearing any form of a cap.

However, the government realizes that the law must be absolute for it to become effective. Thus, they have lifted the exemption and will be enforcing it immediately.
